Why We Ask For Your Support

We are not faced with a labor shortage. Our 43,000 square foot facility can accommodate many more blind and disabled workers.  And, there are many blind and disabled citizens who desire (some who need) the type work environment which is commonly only provided by a sheltered workshop. One of the major problems we are challenged with is being able to provide enough work to keep the current folks employed.  Obviously, additional work (which equates to more product sales) will also help more individuals secure employment with us.

Our workforce (primarily sensory impaired and many with other types of vocational disabilities) has financial needs just like most everyone. But, perhaps more importantly, when they work here they escape a type of isolation that persons without disabilities do not encounter. The social interaction for many sensory impaired workers is almost as important to them as the wages they earn.

So, if you receive, or have received, a call from one of our Customer Contact representatives, please consider offering us the opportunity to prove ourselves to you. We send our products out on the honor system to place the burden of trust directly upon our shoulders. It is just one more of the ways we try to show our appreciation to those who offer us a chance to serve them.

The first priority here is to increase our production levels so the work is available to the blind and disabled citizens who depend on us. Making a profit on our products has never been our primary concern -- we are a nonprofit organization.  Our income level in recent years has not been enough to do much more than pay the workers and meet basic overhead costs from month to month.  Our current facility was built in the early 1960’s, and although a beautiful, well built facility, some general maintenance has suffered in recent years due to lack of funds.  A lot of staff offices and work space lacks proper cooling and heating.

If you have been blessed with prosperity, and are inclined to share those blessings with a reputable and deserving organization, we accept donations with a level of appreciation that cannot be expressed in mere words. We can assure you that we will be good stewards of any benevolence shown us.
